Volunteer

North Edinburgh Arts is undergoing a period of transformation having outgrown our current building, and are part of the ongoing regeneration programme around MacMillan Square. Going through a community asset transfer process, we have taken our work into the community and work from premises across Muirhouse and Pilton.

Covid 19 presented many challenges to our volunteering programme; we suspended face-to-face groups, minimised the team and suspended volunteering placements. The small volunteer team who helped during lockdown helped with food preparation and distribution, and creative sessions, which were able to run again as restrictions eased as the months progressed.

With the move of premises, we have been waiting to restart our volunteering programme and are delighted to announce that we are looking for a range of volunteers to help support our groups. We are looking for members of the local community, creatives, people interested in working with children and families, and students who would benefit from a period of practical experience through placements.

We offer volunteers a range of experiences including experience working on sessions with a range of artists including art, dance, music, environmental activities, with NEA’s Community Shed, and Art for Grown Ups group on Public Art projects and much more. Volunteers are nurtured within a supportive team, and will receive regular training, support, and professional development opportunities.

We are currently looking for volunteers to support our Saturday Arts & Dance and CREATE projects, working with children and families.
