Art Buds in Muirhouse is a fun, free programme of outdoor creative learning for local early years and school-aged children in Muirhouse (postcodes EH4 4, EH4 5, EH5 1, EH5 2), developed by Art Buds Collective in partnership with North Edinburgh Arts.
We’re offering children the chance to attend weekly classes exploring art-making in nature with experienced artist educators. Our adventures will take place in Gyspsy Brae Recreation Ground.
Free outdoor kit and a healthy snack will be provided for all participants.
At Art Buds in Muirhouse you will:
- Learn art-making skills
- Develop problem solving skills, independence, confidence and respect for nature
- Enjoy safe and respectful foraging
- Learn about the environment and how to live and create more sustainably
- Receive free outdoor clothing to keep you comfy while you make and explore
Art Buds in Muirhouse is back with after school and morning creative classes for children aged 3-5 and 6-10! We will be returning to our local natural spaces and continuing our creative journeys inspired by nature and sustainability.
We will be providing each child with more free outdoor kit to keep, so that everyone is equipped to learn comfortably outdoors, and a free snack at each session. Bookings will be available from 10th August.
Autumn term week commencing 23rd August- 14th October (8 weeks)
Art Buds in Muirhouse is run by Art Buds Collective, in partnership with North Edinburgh Arts, made possible through funding from Creative Scotland’s Youth Arts Access Fund.
Due to Covid-19 safe working procedures, places are limited to 10 children per class so booking is essential.
Places are booked for a whole term, with children attending their chosen class every week for 8 weeks.
We ask that each child only be booked onto one class each per term.
