CREATE is an art-making experience for parents and carers that engages them in active play with the children, aged 5 and under, in their care. Our weekly sessions, led by professional artists and practitioners, will be held indoors or outside in the Garden when the weather allows.

Participants should wear clothes and footwear that is comfortable, suitable for outdoor working, layers to keep warm and dry, and that they don’t mind getting messy!

To make sure everyone is safe and can take part comfortably, we are limiting each session to 6 households. Please note that sessions are designed for 1 parent/carer and 1 child; if you would like to attend with additional children, please check availability directly with our Box Office.

All sessions are FREE, but places must be booked in advance. As places are limited, we would like to offer priority to local residents of Muirhouse and Pilton (NEA Good Neighbours). If you live locally within EH4 4, EH5 1 or EH5 2 postcode, you can sign up to be become a Good Neighbour and receive discounts in our cafe and for our programme.

Saturday Arts & Dance (Ages: 5 – 12)

Sat ARTS & DANCE Nov - Dec 2020

Saturdays, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Cost: FREE (Booking essential)

Our Saturday Arts & Dance sessions allow children aged 5 – 12 to participate in a relaxed yet structured environment, alternating between dance and art throughout the morning. The classes are split into two age groups, 5-7 years and 8-12 years. A healthy snack will be provided in the break between classes.

The Art sessions use materials that can often be found in the home environment, offering simple techniques that can easily be replicated. The Dance sessions introduce children to new dance techniques, allowing them to learn at their own pace.

Our weekly sessions run every Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm up until the Christmas school break, and will be held indoors or outside in the Garden when the weather allows. Participants should wear clothes and footwear that is comfortable, suitable for outdoor working, layers to keep warm and dry, and that they don’t mind getting messy!
