Garden
Welcome to a community garden space for all, where local residents, groups and garden projects can grow together. A hidden sanctuary in the heart of Muirhouse, here you’ll find a play area, sand pits, gardening plots, homegrown fruit and veg for our Café and plenty of places to relax in nature.
Garden Redevelopment
Our half-acre garden flourished for 8 years as a valued community resource, incorporating food growing, play, areas for nature and integrated artworks. However, since January 2022, our garden has been partially absorbed by the construction site for our capital redevelopment project.
This has provided an opportunity to revitalise our garden, to redesign it to make sense of our new building and adjoining community hub. Our new garden will incorporate the best of the old, focusing on play, biodiversity and socialising, and will continue to provide a quality greenspace in a community with noted environmental neglect, lack of open-access community spaces and poorly maintained play-areas.

Every Tuesday & Thursday, 1.30pm – 4pm
Join our weekly drop-in gardening sessions for adults at the NEA Garden.
Volunteering at the NEA Garden is a great way to learn gardening skills and get to know people in the local area. Gardening also helps you get and stay active and supports your overall well-being.
