October Half-Term Programme

We’ll be running a number of special events and creative activities for all the family between 12 October and 20 October. Please see below for more information and visit our Facebook Page for any updates.

North Edinburgh Film Festival – Fri 12 & Sat 13 October


Fri 12 October 3pm Local archive footage from Pilton Video selected and presented by Joel Venet
Fri 12 October 6pm Outdoor screening in the NEA garden of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride
Sat 13 October 11am Coco, Disney’s animation for all ages
Sat 13 October 1pm Free community lunch followed by sing-a-long film favourite at 1.30pm

We will have plenty of popcorn and candy floss. Everyone’s welcome! Free but booking required.

Spray Street Art Workshops

Wed 17, Thu 18 and Fri 19 October 1- 4pm

Tetris piece

Ages: 10 – 18 years     Cost: £1

Get your hands on the cans when you come along to join professional artist Ross MacRae to design and create a new spray paint mural at North Edinburgh Arts. Please wear old clothes and we’ll provide the face masks.

Only 6 places available each day so please reserve your place in advance at NEA reception.

Film Clubs

Tues 16, Wed 17, Thurs 18 and  Fri 19 October

All films start at 1.30pm

Ages: 5 – 12 years  Cost: FREE (please register your place)

Full details on what films will be available at NEA closer to the time.

Under 7 year olds should be accompanied by a guardian (14+) with no more than 2 children per guardian

Garden Drop-ins

Wed 17 & Thurs 18 11am – 3pm

All ages welcome        Cost: FREE

Come along to our Garden drop-ins this half-term where you’ll get a chance to do a bit gardening, cooking with garden produce and have a go at making bug hotels.

Families welcome. Children under 9 must accompanied.

Beach Day with Zoo Arts Extra

Sat 20 Oct 12pm – 4.30pm


Come and join us for a trip to the beach including fire, food, sand, sea and art activities. A fantastic outdoor afternoon to end the October mid-term break!

Free (donations welcome towards the cost of food and materials)

Children under 9 must be accompanied.
